Hi @patrizio, I take Eliquis (apixaban) 5 mg every morning and evening for a DVT I had about 4 months ago. I usually drink a protein shake every day in the late morning. I wasn't aware of any problems drinking a protein shake if you are on apixaban.

Eliquis 30 Day Free Trial Card Activation, I read there is a rare side effect of hair thinning for metoprolol. (take 25 mg 2x day) Also read that Eliquis can sometimes cause some stomach discomfort. (5 mg 2x day) Can either medications be taken in lesser amounts? The weird thing about my Eliquis side effect was that at no time did I experience pain, ONLY muscle weakness. Interestingly (but not unexpected) was that when I began walking 2-3 miles a day my leg muscles became SORE! I’ve been on Eliquis since 2019 for second incidence of bi-lateral lung clots.
I’ve asked pcp to reduce to 2.5 mg twice per day from 5.0 mg twice per day. Just wondering if anyone has reduced their dosage and pros/cons of doing so.
